On-page optimization techniques for WordPress
What can you do to get your website rank higher in search engines? Well it’s obvious, Off-Page and On-page optimization techniques is what you can think of for an SEO success.
So let’s walk through the On-Page SEO which is one of the most critical factors to the success of your SEO campaign:
Your page titles are one of the most important components of your SEO campaign. Each of your pages should have its own unique title, which includes the main keywords for that page.
For example, when I wrote about optimizing images in WordPress it was important for me to include `optimize images’ or `optimizing images’ within my post title.
This way, whenever someone searches for `optimize images’ in a search engine, my post has a better chance of showing up because I have included those keywords in my title.
2.SEO Image optimization
Image optimization is vital for your SEO campaign. Using images within your content is a great way to make your site more visually appealing and interesting. You can utilize these images to improve your site SEO.
Include relevant keywords can help people find your site when searching on Google Images.
You can also include Alt Text and Descriptions for your images, making them even more useful with SEO.

Many people forget to include meta descriptions for their pages. These descriptions are an important place to include relevant keywords for your content, as these are used within the search results when your page is listed.
For instance, the meta description that I chose included the keywords `optimize images’ which was my primary keyword phrase.
I use a WordPress plug-in on my sites called ‘Yoast SEO’. This allows me to enter all of my meta tag keywords, meta description and page title at the bottom of each of my posts before publishing.
Yoast SEO is the first true all-in-one SEO solution for WordPress, including on-page content analysis, XML sitemaps and much more.
To include search engine friendly URLs for each of your pages is highly recommended, as these enhance better crawling.
For example you can see for my page, the URL is http://onlineshouter.com/ how-to-optimize-images-for-seo/ and I have included the keywords that are relevant for this post.
When writing your articles, break up your content into smaller paragraphs to make it easier for people to read. These sections can be given heading, which is where H1, H2, H3, H4, etc. tags are used.
H1 tags are reserved for your main page title, with subsequent headings (just like the ones I have used throughout this post) being issued H2, H3, etc. Search engines use these tags to determine what is important within your content.
Note: Always write keyword rich headings in the order of priority in H1, H2 and H3 title tags. They are used by many crawlers to differentiate relevant content
Including relevant keywords throughout your content is very important, as it helps search engines figure out what your content is about.
Note: Do not to excessively repeat and overuse keywords just for search engine robots. This can lead to your site being banned from search engines.
To avoid this, try to keep your keyword density to roughly 2-5%.
8.Internal web page linking
Placing links to your other website pages, is a great way of improving your navigation to other pages of your site which can be a useful weapon in your SEO campaign.
Through your links placed within your article posts visitors can navigate around your site and find all of your content.
For example, if my post is focused on image optimization, then readers may also find a link on ‘‘Onpage optimization techniques’’. This way readers are going to read both of your relevant posts eventually getting your site crawled.
