Schema Markup makes your page more spider friendly. The better Google understands your page, the better they know that your page is relevant for keywords.

Schema Markup is also a recommended method for providing Google with the meta-data needed to index videos. It is recommended to add schema video markup onsite in order to get your page embedded video to rank in SERPs as well as Youtube results.

 Author tag

The Author tag is a way of connecting authors with their content.

The tag Rel =“Author” allows search engines to acknowledge what content as been written by a specific author.

It uses the Rel=“Me” tag which helps your Google profile come up in the search results.

So this tag is a great way to connect with your audience and engaging your readers.

Standout Tag

The tag Rel =“Standout” makes your content stand out.

It’s applicable to Google news results. This tag is important for journalists or marketers.

Does Schema.org improve your rankings in search results?

There are indications that search results with more extensive rich snippets (like those created using Schema) will have a better click-through rate. But just because you implement Schema Markup that doesn’t mean you have an automatically better site. It definitely boosts your site’s SEO but that doesn’t mean your site is better than the site that has not implemented these tags. Google doesn’t rank you higher solely based on Schema Markup implementation.
